About Me:
Hi and Welcome to the uniquely nursing community! I'm Knicki, a passionate advocate for nurses.
From my very first day stepping onto my nursing unit, I felt unsupported and stifled by my preceptor. I was made to feel stupid for asking questions and she was very condescending to me. It was as if my preceptor forgot that she had also been new once. she did not help create an environment for learning. Eventually I found my footing with an alternative supportive mentor. now over a decade and 30+ hospitals later, I can see that this is a nationwide problem which has ignited my commitment to create a nurturing, safe space for nurses to relax, de-stress, learn, and grow.
I organize events designed for nurses to unwind, connect, and discuss the unique stresses they face in their careers. but i also make sure they have fun! From one-on-one mentoring sessions to group gatherings, my aim is to provide a place where nurses can network, grow, and thrive.
In the Uniquely Nursing community, inclusivity is everything. Regardless of age, background, or ethnicity, all nurses are welcomed with open arms. I believe in the power of diversity to enrich our experiences and perspectives.
